Geelong Council of Propaganda (Or Whose Values are they Promoting in our Libraries Anyway?)
The price of freedom is eternal vigilance......
I haven't been to a branch of the Geelong Regional library service for some weeks as I write this (January 2014), but previous to that I was going regularly to various branches in the region. It was during this former period that I became increasingly aware of a clearly discernible pattern in the material that was being presented to our young adults in the Geelong community, by the City of Greater Geelong council, through our libraries and the 'young adult' recommended reading shelves. What I found particularly disturbing was the flagrant promoting of homosexualism in the name of so-called "sexual diversity" and the equally flagrant promoting of so-called "mental health" services to same group.
In fact, if you call the Geelong Council for any purpose you will be reminded of the touted wonders of "sexual diversity" in their on-hold recorded messages, whether you like it or not. This propaganda is delivered in the usual phony 'fun-loving' marketing style by the usual mindless stooge invariably employed for such purposes - I was waiting for the inevitable steak knives thrown in at the end with all that fun-lovin' "sexual diversity", but it never came.
Apparently the government has taken it upon itself now to direct the sexuality of our young men and women, in a very clear and particular direction and without our consent - it is no longer their own private affair, or the affair of those who truly care for them, but the affair of those who are paid to monitor them.
Which is where, of course, the "mental health services" come in. Time and time again I have seen government sponsored booklets or pamphlets or advertisements for such "services" in both the library and other public places all over Greater Geelong, but the material I observed in the libraries seemed to be particularly targeted at the psychologically and physiologically immature and hence ultra-vulnerable, which is even more sickening. Especially when you consider the inevitable corollary to these disgusting and utterly unscientific so-called "mental health services" - the fraudulent and extremely lucrative psychotropic drugging of our young people and children for a buck.
For more on this see the article here. Also recommended are the documentaries "The Marketing of Madness" and "Making a Killing: The Story of the Psychotropic Drug Industry" - they are listed on the Documentaries page here. This is essential reading/viewing for any parent in this day and age interested in protecting themselves and their children from this most insidious of threats to their welfare. (Ironically the first of the documentaries mentioned is available in DVD at various branches of the Geelong Library Service or you can have them get it in for you. You won't find it on recommended viewing shelves however....)
Anyway, I decided to write the GRLC (Geelong Regional Library Corporation) administration about this as well as another alarming trend I had observed in the libraries - the transformation of the Geelong community's quiet library space into a kind of social lounge/arcade/cafeteria type space, and raised the question (along with some simple, low cost remedial suggestions) where Geelong people might reasonably be expected to find a quiet space for reading (both electronic material and print) in their community, if not in their libraries? But I suppose that the inevitable result of a lack of quiet spaces anywhere in the community, namely attention problems in our children (and adults), can always be treated by the "mental health services" can't they?.........
You can read the correspondence that followed between myself and the GRLC here. There are two letters, the first my original complaint, the second a reply to the GRLC's lame and inadequate response, followed by their final and equally inadequate reply. I would encourage members of the Geelong community (and especially parents) to familiarise themselves thoroughly with what is being presented to their children in places like libraries and elsewhere in the community, including presumably schools, by government using public funds, and if you find it as objectionable as I have, to do what you can to voice your protest against it and especially to protect your children against it. In the name of all of us, and for all our sakes.
Simply put, the government, local, state or federal has no right or mandate to use our publically funded facilities for propaganda purposes of any form, to promote any particular world view or belief system whatsoever, and this premise is the very basis of a healthy society where the individual's right to think for himself and make his own (unmanipulated) judgments is respected. Obviously.
